Scenes In Jazz
A multi-disciplinary arts project to benefit arts
education for youth.
Scenes in Jazz is all about Jazz: Jazz Music, Jazz Singers, Jazz Dance,
Jazz on Film and Jazz in Art. Created by critically acclaimed writer/producer
Frank Fitzpatrick as a way to show jazz’s influence across the different
art forms and to raise funding and awareness to help support music and
arts education for youth.
The first CD release from Scenes in Jazz will feature original songs and
film music performed by world renown musicians, new singers and jazz veterans,
including Spanky Wilson, Marla Gibbs, Lina, Celia Faussart (of Les Nubians),
along with a bonus DVD copy of the award-winning short film Jungle Jazz:
Public Enemy #1 – featuring classic jazz dance footage from the
1940’s, and original artwork from paintings of jazz artists.
The launch of the new CD and ongoing series will be celebrated inconjunction
with a series of multi-disciplinary events including live musical performances
by featured artists, an art and photography exhibit, presentation of jazz
films and jazz dance. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the CD
and the events will go toward the support of music and arts educational
programming for youth.
